E-Scapes

A late night in Atlanta turned out to get some pretty nice urban photography. Started playing around with long exposures again in preparation for some light painting photos at Hangout Fest.

Brenau Sewannee Swim Meet

This weekend was spent in the whereabouts of Mont Eagle, TN to cheer on the Brenau girls at the country-swanky Sewannee University.

Lisa had a great meet, qualifying for nationals in the 400 IM and placing in all of her other events.

The Tigers are looking forward to their next meet at Emory and to taper for SCAD. Yaaay for shaved legs!

GT ADPi Mallard Ball

Photos are HERE :D

First time in almost a year updating the site! Some retro-active posts of my travels is in order.

Joey Cerone asked me to take over a shoot for him, and honestly it was the first paid gig I had done in almost a year! Hard to believe I've had a 9 to 5 for that long.

I have to say, ADPi's definitely know how to have a good time. I wish I could have put down the camera long enough to learn me some country dancin...

This couple and a few others could even backflip the girls. That's talent, my friends.

No words.

Aaaand yes. The band was awesome, and the dude could play a MEAN fiddle.

GT vs UGA

Very disheartening loss for the Jackets last night at home. Many questionably hard hits put many of our players on the sidelines for a bit.

Including Josh Nesbitt. Jaybo Shaw had to come in for a few minutes while Nesbitt regrouped from a mean hit.

The Jackets looked a lot better after halftime. Here is a shot showing just how packed the stadium was for this GT-UGA matchup.

Guess every dawg has their day. Can't wait for Tampa next weekend!

GT vs VT 2009 P2: Celebration

So the win was such a success I thought it would be appropriate to give the celebration its own blog post. Again, No 19 Georgia Tech defeated No 4 Virginia Tech, winning it's first home game against a top five team in 47 long years.

Swarms of students and alumni rushed the field to get their piece of the action.

Soon after the crowd rushed the field and the players left, the student body began climbing on the North goal post. Students started screaming "tear it down!" in unison and the goal post began to quiver.

Security tried to keep people off of the post, tearing their pants to shreds in the process.

Finally, the post snapped with what could only be described as the crackling that occurs when a giant oak comes crashing down.

The post was rode southward until it was turned around and headed for the President's house.

To get the goal out of the stadium, one arm was put up in the stands of adoring alumni as they helped tear the arm off to get the post through the tunnel and into the streets of Atlanta.

Something is missing here. Can you guess what it is?

In front of Bud Peterson's house power was supplied by the president himself to cut the post into pieces for the fans.
I want to take the chance to thank Blake Israel, who made the rest of the photos possible by lending me his flash since the batteries in his camera died. It made all the difference Blake.

Channel 2 News was there keeping the hype of the night up.

The last piece leaving Bud's house to Chi Psi where they were gracious enough to let us use their tools to help disassemble the goalpost to get our piece.

My piece. Cut straight from the center of the Georgia Tech Virginia Tech game, October 17th, 2009.

GT vs VT 2009 P1

Here is a set from the most amazing football game I have ever been to. No 19 Georgia Tech played No 4 Virginia Tech and won it's first home game against a top five team in 47 long years.

The band warms up the crowd before the game starts.

The Buzz was definitely intense as the crowd knew what a win from this game could mean

The first quarter was scoreless (the first time this season for the Jackets) where we gained a total of 5 yards total offense despite holding the ball for a little over 9 minutes of the quarter.

Paul Johnson said his offense was "like zombies" in the first half, while the defense was slaughtering turkeys. After the first half the offense of both teams found some rythm. The Hokies were first to appear on the scoreboard with a field goal which was quickly answered.

Nesbitt's 1-yard QB sneak touchdown, the first of three for Nesbitt that night, came about from his only completed pass for 51 yards to...

Demaryius Thomas

After an interception from a long pass the Hokies had the game within a touchdown again at 14-10. 12 plays later, #3 Marcus Wright ran for a 13-yard touchdown making the game now 21-10.

The crowd really couldn't have been any better.

Josh Nesbitt currently stands sixth in ACC history with 1657 rushing yards, and as a junior. He is also the first QB in GT history to rush for 100 or more yards in three games in a career.

"Their quarterback was doing a great job, and we got into a little bit of a guessing game," Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer said of Nesbitt and his teammates. "I said going into the game he's been a great quarterback. He's good in that offense. He's very, very good.". And here's another touchdown.

Buzz had a lot of work to do, but thankfully for Buzz we didn't have another win like the one at Florida State in Tallahassee.

Peeples on the carry.

Jonathan Dyer running the ball

Nesbitt's last touchdown was a 39-yarder as he tiptoed down the sideline with 3 minutes left in the game.

Le Flash

Last night was the most inspiring thing I have seen think since I have been in Atlanta. Atlanta Celebrates Photography kicked off their month-long festival with Le Flash - a one-night-only extravaganza of light, art, and all-around interesting sights. See the rest of the photos here.
